The Oracle of Life
A Pathfinder Home Campaign
Kyonin Equipment
The following equipment is available freely to players in the campaign. This equipment is sourced from Elves of Golarion by Paizo
Curewort Root:
Cost: 25 gp
Weight: Negligible
Use: Chew as a standard action.
Area Effect: Self
Save: No (healing)
Effect: (3 charges) Heals 1d8 hit points.
Retrieving the root from a container is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity; chewing a dose is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A character may combine these two actions into a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity; interrupting the action stops the retrieval part of the action.
Sootheweed:
Cost: 35 gp
Weight: Negligible
Use: Crush (as a swift action once in hand).
Area Effect: 30-feet.
Save: no (special)
Effect: (1 use) Special.
When used within 30 feet of an animal or magical beast with Intelligence 1 or 2, the DC of Handle Animal and wild empathy checks to influence that animal decreases by 5. Wild empathy may be performed in an expedited fashion on the round after the creature is exposed to the sootheweed.
The scent of freshly crushed sootheweed leaves makes animals and some magical beasts become docile after 1 full round of exposure to the plant’s fragrance. If such a creature is under the influence of an enchantment or confusion effect, exposure to sootheweed’s scent gives these creatures one new saving throw to overcome the effect; failure means additional exposure to the plant has no effect. Once crushed, sootheweed’s scent lasts 10 minutes. One dose (a handful of leaves) typically sells for 35 gp.
Tintalviel:
Cost: 50 gp
Weight: Negligible
Use: Crush (swift action once in hand).
Area Effect: Self or adjacent character.
Save: no (special)
Effect: (1 use) Cures Nauseated condition.
This seed casing reacts to its user’s physical condition. When crushed in a nauseated target’s face, the sickly-sweet smell of tintalviel seeds cures the target’s nausea. The seed casing can also be brewed into a tea to combat nausea (and is a favorite of wealthy pregnant women because of this), though if the brewer is not nauseated he must take care to not inhale too strongly when making it. A casing usually sells for 100 gp. The seeds from a broken casing are enough to fill a small spoon and sell for 50 gp per spoonful; a spoonful is enough to brew 1–3 cups of tea depending on the severity of symptoms. A tintalviel plant blooms once or twice a year, with 1d4+1 seed casings produced per blooming cycle.
