Brother Naeral Twice-Born

Some 5 years ago, the elven swordsman Naerel, a traveler from Kyonin, came to the River Kingdoms to explore the ruins of Sevenarches in secret. He chanced to engage the services of a guide who was a worshiper of Hanspur. One night, the guide chose to drown Naerel as an offering to the Water Rat, and as the elf flailed and fought for breath and life, he heard a watery voice speak to him and saw visions of a lakeside community serving Hanspur. Cajoled and invigorated by these things, Naerel surged from the waters of the Sellen and drowned his would-be murderer.
Now calling himself Twice-Born (“once of woman, again of water”), Naerel began preaching Hanspur’s word, and eventually gathered a small group of followers around him who established a camp on the shore near their god’s floating temple in Kallas Lake. Refugees from the surrounding lands sometimes found shelter at the camp, and a small community of zealots grew up around it.
Salo Smokeater

Long before Razmir came to the shores of Lake Encarthan, the sanctuary had been a small frontier fort established by one of the Taldan Crusades. Abandoned for centuries, it became home to Salo Smokeater, a secretive Fairie Dragon. Studying there in seclusion, he became a master illusionist, and thereafter concealed his small sanctuary, already deep within the forest, behind layers of intricate illusions. In time, even the Fey began to believe Salo Smokeater was a myth, long moved away, or dead.
But after Razmir's religion declared all Fey heretics, and the Fey were driven from their tiny forest kingdom, Salo made his home known to his kind. There they hid, most moving on to Kyonin, Seven Arches, or to the newly hospitable forests in Andoran. A small number, led by Salo himself, offered their services to Kyonin in exchange for aid. The party delivered this aid to Smokeater, and now Whispertruth is a spy waystation into and safe exodus point from the inner sphere of Razmiran.
